Some tweeting at the nonsense-pipe installers Edinburgh Core begat a response saying that this wasn't the final fill and that it would be fixed within 24 hours. Haven't yet checked back on it. Whilst it's not going to be knackered as quickly as a badly-filled trench on a road there is sufficient motor traffic on this bit (where the police are as likely to be sneaking along it as council/contractors' vans) to exacerbate any rubbish refilling.

That evening, Amos took a shit in the bath. It wouldn't have been so bad had it not coincided with a period of improper draining, worsened by the recent rain. Sweetcorn for lunch, apparently.
