Boundary Dwellers

Who would guess...

...that behind this fine wee Stockbridge house there is a car park and a block of flats, or perhaps some offices: i didn't venture round to look.

But it is clear that Edinburgh's planning committees have been busy making seriously poor decisions for a long time.

I was on my way to the Botanics when i took this. Sitting in the sun (yey!!!) on the Inverleith House path, the mistakes are horribly visible on the north facing slope of the New Town (between the Water of Leith at the foot and the top ridge of George St), where they sit lumpen and shiny in their concrete and glass among their Georgian and Victorian neighbours.
