Stopham Bridge

A very bright crisp day so we decided to find a pub that Normous had visited last year and really liked. He said it was by a river so I thought we could walk along the riverside before our lunch.
The pub was beside this bridge at Stopham on the River Arun, way down in Sussex. The road from Pulborough to Petworth used to use this bridge, but it has long been superseded by a modern monstrosity and the old bridge is closed - see extra photo.
There was no river bank to walk on so we wandered across the bridge while I took some photos and then repaired to the pub for lunch.
We came home via Petworth where I would have liked to explore the quaint streets and shops, but the menfolk weren't interested so we came home!
At home, George is tackling a Meccano type kit to build the Eiffel Tower, with Granny to help. It would be a tricky project single handed. I hope we get it finished before he goes home.
