Wee Experiment...

Here's a wee experiment for you.

Use your fingers to count to five.

Now how did you do it? When I did it, I did it by closing my fist and then started opening digits starting the the thumb, index, middle, ring then pinky.

Apparently different cultures count with fingers differently. Apparently Europeans tend to count this closed fist method from their left thumb outwards. People from the middle east count from the pinky of their right hand. North Americans or Chinese tend to start with the index finger. When I tried this experiment with Bethany, she did what is commonly found in Japanese finger counting. Starting with a open hand and closing fingers.
