Barbados Cherry

   This is a bonsai that I have had for 2 years.  The bonsai is about 4 or 5 years old.  It is a tropical plant that requires temperatures not much lower than the mid 40's, with beautiful, tiny pink flowers.
   My job now, is to watch the leaf development, to see if I can force the tree to back bud and trim the branches back some to retain the shape of the bonsai.  It is tender, loving care, done daily.  The leaf size will be reduced as well to make it proportional with the tree size.
    This may appear as too much time, but in reality it is very rewarding to watch the plant develop, to spend the time quietly, reflectively, and artistically watching a vision come to fruition.
