Gillipaw's Journal

The Radcliffe Camera

University of Oxford.

Designed by James Gibbs, built 1737-1749, to house the Radcliffe Science Library. Camera means 'room' in Latin. Ch often studied here during her time at Exeter College.

A lovely day out. The morning in the Ashmolean, lunch with Tim in the Exeter Grounds, admiring this wonderful building. Popped into the Chapel and enjoyed part of an organ recital. A tour of the Bodleian Library in the afternoon, fascinating - highly recommended.

A wander into St Mary's Church, around the Covered Market, down to Christchurch.

Met Shotlandka at the Carfax Tower, then dinner at Thaikhun with my niece and #2. Interesting chat about her 2nd year art project inspired by a CS Lewis book.
