Mini shrew

I saw our semi feral cat Lottie in the study playing with what looked like a leaf. This was an unusual event as I have never seen her play before. It was when the "leaf" ran off I realised it was alive. Fortunately we were able to catch it and it proved to be the tiniest shrew we had ever seen. It did not seem the worse for its adventure and we took it outside and released it in the herb garden. It ran off quickly and hopefully survived its traumatic adventure.
