Hebden Rising!

A trip to Hebden Bridge this afternoon to support this wonderful town in getting back going after the horrific impact of the Boxing Day floods. The devastation caused is painfully etched across the town. Shops and cafes remain empty, floors ripped out showing nothing but the foundations, wet dirty shop fronts, mud impacted pavements and the towpath (which we enjoyed a stroll along) covered in thick mud.

However, the community continues to stand defiant. Shop fronts are filled with messages of thanks to the many who have helped the owners to recover, and in many ways find the strength to fight back, many for a third time. The least local people can do is support those cafes which have managed to reopen their doors by buying a drink, and shop locally to support the green grocers and other shops desperately trying to claw their way back.

Hebden Bridge will rise again!
