Lone Wolf

Today we transferred to our base of the next few days in Gardiner, Yellowstone is even more spectacular in winter than it was in out last visit in fall 2014.

This is one of my favourite shots from today, the first time I've had the privilege of seeing a wild wolf. Alas this one is unlikely to make it through the winter as she's been affected by mange. Her eyes and presence remain powerful though.

Other highlights of the day included seeing a red fox hunting - I was faffing with tripod and missed him jumping. The expected bison, some elk, mule deer and big horn sheep were other sightings.

Time to get some rest before an early start tomorrow to be in the park for sunrise. Will post extras when I get chance.

Hope you've had a good day.
