Small heart

“Pause you who read this, and think for a moment of the long chain of iron or gold, of thorns or flowers, that would never have bound you, but for the formation of the first link on one memorable day.”  -  Dickens Challenge Great Expectations

A mark in the cement path, about the size of two thumb prints, but not seeming to be on purpose; must have been made about 15 years ago but I've never noticed it before, not until yesterday, and only thanks to the enterprise of some creative passer-by who has given it a pink duct tape frame - perhaps this was done for  valentine's day, who knows? But clearly I wasn't the only one to be surprised to find this happenstance because I watched young couples pause and point and excitedly pose beside it, and hug, and skip on their happy way. It would have felt creepy to take photos of them, they in their own worlds, feeling their days and union blessed somehow by this sign from the universe that they were meant to be. What a kindness the unknown artist has bestowed.
