Homeward bound

I took my son and the children to the station this morning, and waved them goodbye as the train pulled away. They had a picnic lunch as they travelled towards London, watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on their father's laptop!
W has been learning about London at school, and was looking forward to a cab ride over the Thames between Waterloo and Euston.
But an incident at Waterloo meant that the train was not allowed further than Clapham Junction, and all the passengers had to get off.
It was more than 30 minutes before my son could find a cab, with the two little ones and their luggage. (I was kept informed by text and was very worried!!) However, W was excited to see Big Ben, the London Eye and St Pauls's Cathedral!
They missed their train at Euston, but were able to board a later one, and at last they were on their way home.
My daughter-in-law was so relieved to meet them!! Apparently the children thought it was all a great adventure!
