Solar Energy Plant

From the plane window we saw the Cresent Dunes Solar Energy Plant, in the Great Basin Desert, Nevada.

17,500 mirrors collect and focus the sun's energy to heat molten salt flowing through the 160 metre power tower.  The salt circulates from the tower to a storage tank where it is used to produce steam and generate electricity.

It is a fascinating sight.
