Village eyesore

The village of Drymen is, according to VisitScotland, a popular tourist attraction, but right in the middle, in the village square itself, next-door to The Winnock Hotel, is this ugly eyesore.

When we first settled here 40 years ago, there was a family-run garage on the site, but since the owners retired some years ago, it has lain empty.

There was talk at one time of its being converted into an Italian restaurant, and more recently a community centre, but in these current stringent times I don't hold out much hope for that.

In the meantime it continues to look neglected and not a pretty sight for all those tourists, never mind the locals.
