Migrant in Moscow

By Migrant

Friday evening commute

Moscow tramways are sadly a fading institution and the network is being steadily reduced apparently to make way for more modern means of transport.  Moscow has currently a combined total route length of 181 km, making the network (this ranking surprised me!) the fourth largest in the world behind Melbourne, St. Petersburg and Berlin.

In the background you may notice of Vera Mukhina's magnificent statue of the "Worker and Kolkhoz Woman" - blipped on 9 January 2016.  Without doubt the most majestic statue in Moscow.

Plus a few photos from a very interesting blogsite of what the system looked like in early days.
