Soup in a bread bowl

Today we travelled to Iceland. After a fairly uneventfull flight, as we came in to land we got our first view of Iceland from the air. It seemed like a thoroughly alien landscape in monochrome. Black bolders picked out against a covering of white snow.

After a bus journey to the hotel, and dropping off our bags at our room. We went to try the hotel's spa for our first experience of Icland's abundant hot water. Even the swimmingpool was quite warm, and the steam room and sauna were stifling. Though we did get to pour water over the hot rocks as you see in the movies.

After our spa we caught the bus into Reykjavik where we spent about an hour looking for the hotdog place Steph had read about online. Eventually we found a completely different place she'd read about, and had planned to go for lunch later in the week, so we went there instead.

The reason we'd picked this place out was the soup served in a bread bowl. This seems like a mad way to serve food, but it turned out to be very tasty soup i a rather tasty, and nice and crispy bowl. I think I was a bit odd for eating the entire bowl. The waitress brought me a sharper knife when she noticed me trying to cut it with a normal one.
