Mono Monday . . . Ancestors

A poupou is a the Maori name for a carved wooden post.  On a meeting house the carved posts would all be ancestors.  This post is in the city gardens and  I think he is decorative rather than representing someone.  It is not traditional to paint the post white after the carving has been done.  There are many carved posts around the city and so the ancestors are rather visible.
This is my 365th blip but I forgot to create a special blip :-(
Never mind it has been fun and I'll keep on keeping on.

Thank you Mrs.Linda for the challenge.
