The Last Few Long Furrows

8.5C with a light frost early then long sunny spells. Light West North Westerly breeze.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went for a walk after lunch. Runrig on the Nano (Searchlight and The Big Wheel). We went up to the church then continued out along the country road to Scryne. There was a tractor ploughing in the field just past the Old Manor B&B and the Glebe and as we reached the field with the bridle path the farmer from Craigmill farm came along the road and up the hill in his tractor and turned into the field to resume ploughing where he had left off. About half the field with the bridle path was done. This is the last field belonging to Craigmill farm on the Panbride/Carnoustie side. We walked down the hill and along the road climbing up the slope to the farm after passing the derelict cottage. We turned right at Craigmill farm and went down the track to the shore road.

We walked along the cycle path towards Westhaven. The tractor I had seen in the field beyond the church was now ploughing the last few long furrows the full half mile from up by the Glebe to the shore road and back.

We carried on along the shore road and carried on round in a loop heading into Carnoustie and up the main road before turning along for home.
