Derelict In Dunfermline

I was election campaigning in Dunfermline last Saturday when I came across this derelict town centre landmark, still abandoned after many years.
It's an interesting old masonic building right in the heart of the town, with an added historic context of the old advertising mural sitting on the tenement opposite.
It reminded me that we need to redouble efforts to get historic empty buildings back into full community use again.
Financial penalties on landlords that keep buildings empty and derelict are a useful stick. A good carrot are empty homes projects which provide support and encouragement to landlords whose assets are stuck in decline.
