Total mystery

I don't have a clue what this little critter is.  It has the eyes of a bee, the antenna of a wasp, and legs of a beetle.  It only stayed around for a millisecond, and this was the only - really bad - image I got of it.  I'm reckoning on a wasp at the moment, definitely a native.

Cropped very heavily, but if anyone has any ideas at all I'd be grateful to hear them.  What do you reckon, Jen?
