Here there and everywhere

Chen

This isn't Chen's first appearance on blip, but I'd always though his name was spelt Chin. It's pronounced 'Chan'. He runs one of the little cafe bars up the road on what we call 'the main drag'. We got to like his place really after my brother started to have coffee here on his visits. His business is at least quartered in the colder months when nobody except that smokers clutching a cup of coffee for heat sit out on his terrace. His wife's recently given birth to their 3rd child and their first son. The two little girls go to the local Catalan school and they were all born here. He's well liked and respected in the community, speaks Spanish, some Catalan and has a cheery word and greeting for everyone. He works very long days and when I asked him yesterday if the Chinese community (which is huge) was sociable here and if they ever got together to do things he replied that they never see each ever as they all work such long hours. Understandable.

Manfred our guest left this morning and we had the leftovers from last night for dinner tonight. Any kind of casserole's better the second day!
