A day in London

A belated blip as we've just got back from London.  In the afternoon we saw "The Patriotic Traitor" at the Park theatre, Finsbury Park, which is the tiniest theatre I've been to.  It's our third visit to this theatre and the plays are always really good.  This one was about the relationship between Philippe Petain (Tom Conti) and Charles de Gaulle (Laurence Fox).  It was written by Jonathan Lynn, who also wrote Yes Minister, and they play had a lot of humour in addition to the interesting historical aspect.

In the evening we saw "Miss Saigon" which is at the end of its West End run (last show is tomorrow).  Another wonderful, although completely contrasting, production-very dramatic and theatrical where the afternoon play was very underplayed and thought-provoking.  A busy but fabulous day.
