LOOK WHAT I FOUND....

... as we enjoyed a magnificent early morning along the mighty Nepean River.

Our local Council has been very proactive in getting the public to use and understand the local nature & environs around the river precinct.

One such way has been to organise a "breakfast with the birds" over two Saturday mornings and today was my chance to enjoy.

As you know so much of my Blipping is already from the river, so probably should have left the spot to someone else, but heck the breakie idea sounded nice!!! And it was!!

Anyway, about 20 locals (quite a few kids included which was great to see) enjoyed the info on the birds around by Mark Fuller who does this for quite a few Councils. (check extras).

His knowledge was excellent, and as the time moved along I did not feel so bad as always picked up a few more pointers on the birdlife around.

We were treated to this azure kingfisher, who at one point looked like it was going to join in on our tucker.

Love these wonders, and pleased it did allow for us to get a few shots, normally flitting everywhere in search of tucker.

Enjoy, and have a look in LARGE and well done to the Council.

... check the other extras for some of the other birds we spotted, in total we sighted 32 different varieties, so a productive morning.
