The Eiffel Tower at the end of the day

(Backblip)

...and there was so much we saw during the whole day :)

We begun our journey in the middle of Paris at Crypte Archéologique du Parvis Notre-Dame looking at very old stones and dirt (my husband won't be happy I said that, but he's the one educated in the field of folklore, archaeology and history, not me!). We also had a look at the garden at the back of Notre Dame - very beautiful!
And speaking of beautiful gardens - there are so many in Paris! On our way to the bookshop Shakespeare & Company we found another nice little garden where we sat down to enjoy the sun.

After a browse and some shopping in Shakespeare & Co (and what a great shop this is, I highly recommend it!) we decided to go see the catacombs and thankfully the line moved faster than expected so we got in before closing time. This was quite an experience and a bit creepy.

And then we headed to the main tourist-attraction in Paris: The Eiffel Tower. We had to stand in line for over one and a half hours (only one elevator in use, so there was a bit more waiting than usual) and then we got to see the magnificent views over the whole city from the 3rd platform near the top of the tower. Really amazing!! Wow!!
We were in the tower until sunset and on our way to the metro we saw when the tower was lit up with lights. Great ending to a beautiful day :)
