to Chat up the Girls

Although the morning started off cold, by the time midday arrived it was just warm enough for my bees to be flying.

Another way of telling that all is well with a hive is to watch the flying bees.

Here you see a number of bees hovering around the entrance to the hive.  These are young bees that have been hatched out this year.  They are flying to orientate themselves to the hive and so be able to return when they fly further afield.
