Yellow and prickly

It was a boost to see the sun again today after the last couple of cloudy days, so I took myself off for a walk in the afternoon. The gorse is starting to sprout and provide a splash of colour.

I baked a batch of shortbread this morning and left it to cool in the oven after I'd cut it into slices and sprinkled it with caster sugar. When I went to take a piece out of the tin in order to test it - quality control is essential! - the whole tin slid out and turned upside-down, as did all the pieces of shortbread. Needless to say, the air was blue for a while...
