New Statue on George Street

I didn't know they were erecting a new statue on George Street until I passed it on the way to work this morning. It was under wraps then, and had this small gathering surrounding it at lunch time. Didn't stick around for the ceremony, as a) it was cold and b) I was on my lunch break, and time was limited. I was sure to take a good gander at it tonight on the way to the bus stop though - turns out it's a statue of James Clerk Maxwell, which I suppose is quite fitting, what with his work to do with colours and colour photography.

Now that it has been unveiled, I must try to get a decent day-light version of the statue proper.
