The Embrace

Today a group of Sheppartonians travelled to Marysville, in the Dandenong ranges, to revisit this small forest town that was completely burnt out in the February 2009 bush fires as they ravaged Victoria in the summer of that year.
Two-thirds of the permanent population left Marysville, never to return. The remaining townsfolk have fought bravely to rebuild.  Newcomers are starting to build holiday houses again and tourists are gradually returning to this very beautiful, resurrected environment.
Bruno's Art and Sculpture Garden was established in 1996, then completely destroyed in the fires leaving the area deprived of one of its most important attractions and challenging this exciting and talented artist beyond belief.
However, undaunted, Bruno dragged his shattered pieces from the rubble and rebuilt as many as he could, adding a host of new creative works along the way.
My Blip is simply the head and shoulders of a beautiful full length piece depicting this all embracing love growing from the earth itself.  I was captured by the grace and serenity, the closeness of the embrace and particularly the beauty of the hands.
My extras are a couple more quirky pieces that I found quite magical.
