Still in use

I was talking to someone the other day about the built in redundancy of most of what we buy today but this item is the antithesis of that problem.

It is an ice scraper and it has been kept in my various cars since October 1988 - almost thirty years.

I picked it up as a freebie from a stand at a conference in Boston I was attending - the first time I was ever in America, so I remember it well.

It was a promotional item,  as is obvious, from the US Air Force and it has been used winter after winter and still is - in fact it was used this last week.

And to complete the contrast, it is sitting on top of a piece of weaving that Cathleen did recently which is another approach to being more sustainable.
