Indoor studio

It was another wet, grey day today, so I decided to make a serious effort to set up an indoor studio for those emergency blips. In a small, cluttered house it's often difficult to find a clear, well-lit space, but I was inspired by this article on Tookapic. I used my daylight desk lamp inside the light tent to provide illumination, and a sheet (unironed, sadly) as a back drop. Camera, tripod and a couple of random objects -- you wouldn't believe this was taken in a dark room with the desk lamp the only light.

Bored with staying indoors, we decided to go and see the new film La Vache this afternoon, about an Algerian peasant who sets off on foot with his cow Jacqueline to the Salon d'Agriculture in Paris (very topical, as it's on at the moment). Perfect Sunday afternoon entertainment -- a funny, feelgood film, where the implausibilites are easily ignored. One review I read described it as "an ode to tolerance, full of hope and tinted with nostalgia," which about sums it up. Oh, and the cow is gorgeous. Hearty laughter throughout, and we all left the cinema with smiles on our faces.
