Ready for Demolition

At long last this building in the centre of Todmorden - an eyesore and a disgrace - is to be demolished - along with the old Olympia cinema next door (see extra).
The building was formerly the Abraham Ormerod Medical Centre.  It was a gift to the town by a local textile family in 1938 and opened by the Princess Royal.  It closed in 1992 and has deteriorated greatly since that time.
It's a great shame that such a grand building has been allowed to get into this state. They are going to build an Aldi supermarket on the site - much better than this ruin.
