Stairway to heaven

Was a time when I would shin down these ladders to my Uncles boat. Bass fishing was the game. Many a time we would head out, the diesel chugging as we rode the swell. We would often stay out for two tides to test our skill against one of the most intelligent fish in the sea. Back then nearly all the Bass went to France and they paid well, us Brits however preferred Cod, Haddock and Plaice. Then one day everything changed, Keith Floyd came along with his charismatic approach to cookery and showed us all what we had been missing. How times have changed, now most good restaurants feature a Bass dish while even supermarkets are stocking it on their shelves.
