Knarr Regatta on San Francisco bay
The Knarr (plural Knarrer) is a Bermuda rigged, long keeled, sailing yacht designed in 1943 by Norwegian Erling L. Kristofersen.[citation needed] Knarrer were traditionally built in wood, with the hull upside down on a fixed frame, then attaching the iron keel after the hull was completed. The hull planks were manufactured with convex and concave edges (bead and cove) and glued together
This is my neighbors house. He is a starving artist...some of his work is just amazing, however...he has a wooden knarr sailing yacht in his porch and a small wooden skiff...this boat came from San Francisco CA. That is 3000 miles from our small island. So this is my derelict Sunday blip. Although "his" home is not kept as I would keep mine he is very kind and a good neighbor and I am thankful for that. The extra is the stern of the GINA through the side porch screen.
