Salvage from the Wreckage

Away from and above it all

The alarm went off at 2:00. 2:00 is too, too early.
Drove down to East Grinstead where we had arranged to park the car and meet a taxi to the airport.
Several hours of early morning fun at Gatwick. The plane had to be de-iced which delayed things a bit.
The 8.5 hour flight wasn't as bad as feared. A bit more legroom than on short-haul flights. A cute little lunch of sausage and mash - with everything miniaturised. Later an elf-sized cornetto and then a miniature tea. For the first time had a screen which could show where in the world we were. And Fineas and Firb. And Sherlock Holmes 2.
Longish queue at immigration. And fingerprints and photos taken. Then grabbed by a taxi-pimp. The taxi driver didn't know how to find the place we were staying but we lucked out and found it.
Arrived at 1:30 in the morning. Pretty warm.
The house is large and nice.
Cold beer.
Bed.
