The Gate

I had an appointment at the doctors for my routine blood test. It hurt this time for some reason and I now have a bruise :(
Went for  walk down to the harbour afterwards and walked past this gate. I liked the swirl at the top and the swirl of the tree trunk behind. Winter aconites, snowdrops and crocus were popping out in the grass beneath the tree.
It felt cold in the wind which was blowing up from the Great Glen. The tide was coming in. One man was fishing on the corner of the harbour. A lady walked her greyhound who was wearing a warm, blue coat. The covers on the boats that are still out of the water were lapping about in the wind and the masts on the smaller boats were flapping about making a lot o noise.
I felt guilty as I had been gazing in the windows of the big, white house looking at a model of  a skiff in the window. It's usually empty but today there was someone there, whoops.
Avoch launched their new skiff, Zephyr, yesterday. The boat was piped down to the sheds from the harbour. It has been built  by members of the Avoch Community Rowing club and is painted in the club colours of yellow and black, a sister boat to Zulu. Looking forward to seeing them both out on the water along with the Fortrose Skiff as well.
