The Hunter

This beautiful Bald Eagle was perched in a treetop above a Prairie Dog colony.  I watched for a while to see if he would swoop down to capture one but they were all safely hidden in their burrows.  I am assuming this is the male of the pair that are nesting down the road from this tree because the other one was in the nest.  It's about the right time so she may already be sitting on eggs.  :-)
