My Fill of Smells!

It's been a grey old day today so we passed a dreich couple of hours at Wai-O-Tapu, the 'Thermal Wonderland' and I now feel totally educated on all things geo-thermal but don't test me on it. I'm sure that on a sunny day with blue sky, the mineral colours in the larger pools like the Artist's Pallette here would be deep and fabulous, not so under a grey sky today.
We had a bite to eat in the cafe and then headed south to Taupo, picking up lots of information to help us plan our Tongariro Crossing on Thursday. We are freedom camping again tonight in what looks like a site full of seventies hippies, certainly a lot younger than us, at Reid Farm just south of Huka Falls and next to the River Waikato. After settling in we have followed a bike trail up to the Falls which rush through a narrow gap with incredible fierceness, we then did a circuit above the Falls and back to the van. Now it's time to make dinner!
