The First Casualty Of Gardening

It's the first blooming casualty at any rate and it's a Hellebore, as I'm sure that you knew.

Today (1st March) is the first Day Of Spring according to Meteorologists here, but the weather is much more wintry than winter was.  Temperatures are right down and we have snow forecast for tonight.

It was a long day.  First phone call just after 7 this morning and the last about 2 minutes before I skedaddled.  More than a little stressful but I'm quite pleased at how my German is holding up.

A couple of things lightened the day though.

I wrote to a friend in Scotland who I haven't written to in a long time and let my work E-Mail just put my normal work signature on it, rather than use one of my informal ones.  This includes my job title, which is "Systemingenieur"*.  They wrote back saying "Please tell me your job title is pronounced 'System-Minger.'"  That made me laugh.

Second thing which I'm happy about is that the name of this website is back to Blipfoto.com.  Polaroid has now gone.  Only downside of that is that blipfoto.com is blocked by my work and blipfoto.com wasn't.

And the third bit of fun is only for those with a good bit of German (and if you can understand Schwäbisch all the better).  I laughed but I'm quite a shallow chap.
