Sunbathing?

Between showers were some welcome bright spots - another day re-asserting myself over the dust-daemons inside the house & the over-exuberance of the straight-jacketed nature outside. Worms fed, tree trimmed, removed cobwebs from everywhere and all washing - crockery & clothes in pleasing piles of cleanliness.
Macros are funny - I'm still learning how not to use them .. the focal plane is so flat - it's always a struggle to get exactly parallel to the subject (while trying to hold steady half an inch above, without shading subject with the camera). So - 20 odd shots of this very obliging shiny fly - and never did I get the compound eyes & wings in focus simultaneously. Fascinating subject though and obviously aware enough - that if he/she didn't grab the sunshine now - that might be the end of the summer!
