Figgy

After the first leaves of spring, figgy fruit is soon to follow.  The buds on my fig bush are bursting, but I'm not sure whether I'm going to keep it this year.  Figs take a lot of water to do well here, and I'm trying to cut back on things that can't thrive with our natural water for the most part.  If I don't water the fig, the plant copes surprisingly well, but its fruit never ripens.  So, it isn't fulfilling its most important purpose.  ...but I love fresh figs!
