Wet again

There was a bit of snow during the night and when the skies cleared this morning the fells looked gorgeous.

Jane and I set off with the intention of going up Catbells.  We stopped off in Portinscale to meet Sue Middleton and shortly after we resumed our walk it started raining.  It turned to sleet and got heavier so we decided to take the lower track along the flank of Catbells.  The rain got heavier and heavier.  When we got to the boardwalk area across the bottom of Derwentwater the path was flooded and went over the top of Jane's boots.  She was not happy!!  We took refuge in the Lodore Falls hotel where we warmed up over a drink while we waited for a taxi back to Keswick.
