1962 and onwards

This 1962 Ford XLS took a prominent place in the car parking spots this morning at the Whalebone Surfing Classic at Cottesloe Beach.

The owner is an aging surfer who was amongst a large number who headed to the beach early for the beginning of the annual two day event for surfers of all ages.

The weather was calm and the water very flat this morning, much to the frustration of the younger ones, but to the relief to many of the older ones who would be surfing on their longboards.

I will venture back there again tomorrow to try and capture a bit of the action later in the day as the competition heats up, and hopefully the swell get a move on as well.
