the flag which lasts a thousand years

Following a fairly lacklustre but inoffensive work-day I met with a former colleague-gentleman briefly this evening for a coffee-based chat but was unfortunately unable to capture the event due to the venue's unsuitable lighting. Though they've never been a particular favourite in any case Starbucks are rapidly decreasing their esteem-level at the moment: first of all they mutilate their chocolate muffins and make them all but inedible (reducing the number of sources of tasty chocolate muffins to four (of which only two are reliably-textured)), they stop selling the relatively wide-based insulated cupthings (as opposed to those with little tiny narrow bottoms for fitting into cup-holders and being knocked easily over) which I was always planning on eventually getting and they modify the seating arrangements and opening times of branches to make them less pleasant and more earlier-closing than previously. When added to their irritating habit of vending foul-smelling gingerbread lattés around this time of year it could be time to start deliberately avoiding them.

A Nickywife was planning on visiting a shop after her work so I had time for a nice extended speed-wander and a brief look through the window of the second-hand-lens-shop in case there was anything inspiring on display and found somewhere selling proper real tasty satsumas rather than mere foul inclementines. There's a definite positive correlation between the time spent being motile during a day and the relative enpleasement at the end of it though I'll be restricted to foot-walking for another day or so until my bicycle is returned from the shop where its underparts are being examined in order to determine the cause of the unpleasant clicking noise and replace the perpetrator-components. As well as gradually leaving the house later and later each morning recently I've been failing to get outside in good time at lunchtime for a decent walk so shall have to have a small routine-change to get out earlier at both times to travel further to reduce the amount of evening-time required to maintain a suitable amount of activity. Making sure I post the blip the previous evening so that I'm not using up time in the morning dithering between images would be a good start but I'm sure I've said that before.
