The Sphere - Battery Park, New York

This is the Fritz Koenig sculpture "The Sphere" which stood between the World Trade Centres. It was damaged when the towers fell on Sept 11, 2001, but survived between all the rubble.

It was put here on March 11, 2002 as a dented and damaged, yet lasting memorial.

An eternal flame was also put in place on Sept 11, 2002. To honour all those lost.
