Cock Pheasant

This rather resplendent cock pheasant and his partner the hen pheasant have been regularly appearing underneath our bird feeder over the past week or so. Actually when you look closely, his plumage is far from perfect though I did not notice that until I had his image on screen. Perhaps the sparrow hawk who frequently leaves a pile of feathers on our lawn has had a go at him. That's the trouble with bird feeders they are not discerning about which birds they will attract.
