Old Faithful

Well almost 5 years. Its been a good car for grandparents as it has seven seats. But it is time for someone else to enjoy it.

So back in December a new one was ordered. Given our age it may be the last sizeable car we buy. So we specified quite a few bells and whistles. This meant that, like many cars nowadays, it was not off the shelf but had to be made for us in the factory.

Delivery was to be the beginning of March and we had arranged to collect it on March 8th.

Then, calamity. A phone call from our dealer to give us the bad news. It had arrived but it had a manual gear box and not an automatic which we had specified and which the dealer had clearly ordered.

The manufacturer has admitted that the error was theirs. But it means that they are now making another one for us and it will be ten weeks before it arrives.

Hey ho. Our present car is blue and so are we.
