Banded rail/ Mohua pereru

It's Blip Saturday again and blipmate and I are at Marahau. Lizellen spots one before we even hit the trail. In the dark amongst the rushes it won't come out so we proceed.
There is one to the east but the sun behind gives only a silhouette. I cross the creek and the mudflat but can't get any closer. They run fast and have plenty of reeds for cover.
On the way back two more are spotted in the distance. Almost too far away but it's a record.See extras.
