The curse of the mobile phone

Captured in bronze.

One of several images around the base of the two lovers statue at St Pancras station. Andrew and I took uncle Harold there today. He was down here to celebrate his 91st birthday with the family. We went out for dinner last night and cooked for him this evening but entertained him with a visit to London during the day. First time he had been on a train in 33 years. Hard to believe. He took a tumble in the pub, The John Betjamen when he got up to go to the loo and didn't see the step down. He fell like a sack of potatoes bless him, but got up very quickly and rather enjoyed the attention of the women who came to his aide. A little shaken, but like James Bond, not stirred.

Dinner was great fun this evening and we played Dixit which was a good laugh as always.

Heard from Matthew. His paddle around the isle of Wight has not gone to plan. He was very sea such today and had to call for help. Two days paddling left but I think he will be giving it a miss. He's gutted but sensible enough to know his limitations.

Breakfast with uncle Harold tomorrow and out for dinner in the evening to the Jay Raj. Bit of a glutton this weekend.
