Squire of the Honourable Order of Fools and Beasts

Despite the unseasonal pouring rain, around 100 or more hardy Morris Men appeared in the Town Square this morning to prance and frolic for our entertainment.

There was a great team spirit amongst the different troupes who came from all over the UK today, Somerset, Cumbria, Letchworth Garden City! This was one stop on their tour of the UK. In a way it was very reminiscent of a Rugby Tour.

It seems that a vital piece of equipment is a large tankard - Morris dancing appears to be very thirsty work. This would explain why I have never seen Morris Dancing take place any further than 10 paces (skips) from a pub.

I also overheard that their transport appears to be somewhat unreliable, often breaking down for hours on end, which is lucky really because it gives them time to re-hydrate between shows.

I want a coat like this fellow.
