Fresh Country Air

5.6C bright and sunny. More cloud late afternoon. Light Northerly breeze.

Grocery shopping this morning at Sainsburys and in M&S at City Quay/Gallagher Retail Park in Dundee then we got Maeve the Deerhound from the car and had a walk. Not to the Howff today, but round the old Jute Mill buildings nearby.

Before lunch Apothecary7 and I took Maeve for a walk. We went up to the church then continued out along the country road to Scryne. We noted that the ploughed soil in the fields was drying out and changing to a light colour. Quite an amazing sight after the wet winter which has left us with waterlooged fields and very dark muddy soil for months. We turned right at Craigmill farm and went down the track to the shore road. The track was dry today. Excellent walking. The farmer had been spreading some of the 'stuff' that he had been dumping in the fields recently. Fresh country air!

I grabbed a quick shot of the tractor and the spreading trailer that had been left in the field. Perhaps the farmer had gone for his lunch. I liked the backdrop of the sea with the light coloured band in the water directly behind the tractor even although a large cloud had shaded the scene.

We walked along the cycle path towards Westhaven then turned right and came up the road to the shore road to get back home.

After lunch both of us went up into the loft and sorted through a few boxes of glassware and china and other things some of which we are sure we hadn't seen since they were packed in boxes before we moved here eleven years ago. We neatly repacked what we want to keep and then had a quick trip in the car to donate some things to a charity shop in Broughty Ferry. When we got back we sorted and repacked the last of the boxes that we had brought down from the loft. I think that just leaves one cupboard to go through and perhaps look through our clothes to see if there is anything we don't want. Nice to have that all done before the man from the removal company comes though the week to give us an estimate for the move.
