Mums plant

I bought this plant last year, not long after mum died. Many a time i have looked out my living room window to where the plant sits in the Owl plant pot i bought for it, and wonder how it keeps sprouting the odd flower. I had though it too had died, yet when i looked out the window this morning there was another flower blooming back at me.
